Remove Wax From Your Carpet

If you burn candles in your home at any time, chances are good that you will spill it on your carpet at least once. At first you might panic and think that your carpet is ruined but don’t. It is actually a stain that is quite easy to remove. Read along with us and you will see for yourself that it is something that you can do.

The first thing that you need to do is gather the necessary supplies. You will probably have most of them in your home already. You will need a steam iron, some terry cloth or cotton towels and a dull instrument such as a spoon. Now that you have the supplies together we can begin. Take the steam iron and fill it with water and then turn it onto the lowest steam setting and let it heat up. While the iron is heating, take your dull instrument and try to scrape off as much of the wax as you can. Be careful not to abrade the carpet below. Just scrape off what comes off easily from the surface. Dispose of the wax. Now grab your terry cloth towels and soak them in water. Wring them out so that they are just barely damp and place a towel over the wax spot. Place your steam iron over the towel being careful not to make direct contact with the iron and the carpet. Allow it to dwell for a fe seconds and then lift up the iron. You will see that the wax has transferred to the towel. Move a clean portion of the towel over the spot and repeat the process until all of the wax has been removed.

You see, it is easy isn’t it? It is something that anyone can do. Now, pat yourself on the back for a job well done and be more careful with that candle next time.
